End User License Agreement

Last updated: September 1, 2026 · English only for now

This agreement is between you and Obveto (“we”, the “Licensor”), the maker of the Obveto desktop application (the “Software”). By installing or using the Software you agree to these terms. Contact: hello@obveto.com.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on computers you control, for your own personal or internal business purposes. The Software is licensed, not sold; we retain all rights not expressly granted here.

2. Trial and license keys

The Software may be used free of charge for an evaluation period measured in a number of successful transcriptions. After the trial is spent, new transcriptions require a license key; everything already on your machine — notes, search, tasks, playback — keeps working without one. A license key is issued for a named plan. A perpetual (“lifetime”) key permanently covers every version of the Software released on or before the key’s update date; a subscription key covers use while the subscription is active. Keys are verified locally and must not be shared, published, or resold.

3. Restrictions

You must not (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it despite this limitation; (b) rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the Software or a license key; (c) remove or alter proprietary notices; or (d) use the Software to break the law.

4. Your recordings and your responsibility

Everything the Software produces from your meetings — audio, transcripts, notes, voice profiles — is yours and stays on your computer; we claim no rights to it and receive none of it. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to recording conversations — including obtaining any consent from participants that your jurisdiction requires — and, where relevant, with your professional obligations regarding confidential or privileged material.

5. Third-party components

The Software includes open-source components (among others: whisper.cpp, llama.cpp, ONNX Runtime–based speech models) and can download AI models published by third parties. Those components and models are licensed under their own terms, which govern them.

6. AI output

Transcripts, speaker labels, and summaries are produced by machine-learning models running on your hardware. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misattributed. The Software is a note-taking aid — not a court reporter, a medical device, or legal advice. Review its output before you rely on it.

7. Updates

We may release updated versions of the Software. Update checking within the app is optional and off by default. Updates are covered by this agreement unless they come with revised terms.

8. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that transcription and summaries will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or related to the Software. Our total aggregate liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, EUR 10. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

This license ends automatically if you materially breach it. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete it; sections 4–11 survive. Your own files, made with the Software, are yours to keep.

11. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules; disputes arising out of it are resolved by the competent courts of Spain. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

12. Changes

We may revise these terms for future versions of the Software; the version that shipped with (or was current when you licensed) your copy continues to apply to it. The current version is always published at obveto.com/legal/eula.
