Privacy Policy
The Obveto application and this website are operated by Obveto (“we”). Contact: hello@obveto.com.
Obveto exists because meeting audio should not leave the room it was recorded in. This policy covers two separate things: the desktop application, and the website you are reading now. The short version: the application sends us nothing at all, and the website collects only what you type into the contact form.
1. The application
Obveto is a local, on-device meeting notetaker. By design:
- No account, no sign-up, no telemetry. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting to us, and no usage tracking of any kind. We do not know that you installed it, and we cannot see how you use it.
- Recordings, transcripts, notes and voice profiles never leave
your computer. All processing — transcription, speaker
recognition, summarization — runs on your machine. Your files are stored
in a folder you choose (by default
Documents/Obveto) and in a local database on the same machine. - License activation is offline. A license key is verified on your machine; no activation server is contacted.
- The diagnostic log is local. The app can write a troubleshooting log on your disk. It contains technical stages and errors, never transcript or meeting content, and it is only ever sent to us if you attach it to an email yourself.
The application connects to the internet only when you ask it to:
- downloading speech and summary models (from Hugging Face, GitHub, or the Ollama registry) during setup or from Settings;
- checking for updates — off by default — against GitHub;
- opening links to this website from the app.
Those requests go to the named third parties and are subject to their privacy policies; they carry no meeting data — only ordinary web-request metadata such as your IP address.
2. The website (obveto.com)
- No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. The site sets nothing and runs no third-party analytics scripts.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. As with any host, Cloudflare processes visitors’ IP addresses and standard request logs to deliver the pages and protect against abuse.
- Fonts. The landing page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests files from Google servers and discloses your IP address to Google. This legal page does not.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we receive what you submit — name, email address, optional company, your message, the page language — plus your IP address, delivered to our mailbox as an email via Cloudflare Email Routing. We use it solely to answer you, and we keep the correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose. It is never sold or shared for marketing.
- Downloads. Installer downloads are served from GitHub Releases (GitHub, Inc.), subject to GitHub’s privacy policy.
- obveto.ru. The Russian-language mirror is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub processes visitor IPs and request logs there.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies: we process contact-form data to respond to your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)); hosting and abuse-protection logs rest on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since the only personal data we hold is correspondence you sent us, a single email to hello@obveto.com handles all of it.
5. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated date. The promise at the core of it — the app sends us nothing — is the product; a change to that would be a different product, not a policy edit.
